The Winery
A maintained and sublimated family winery
La Seigneurie is a winery perched on the highest slopes that make a look to the Saumur region. The family history, full of passion for wine, continues today through Alban Foucher, artisan winemaker, who has inherited the know-how passed down from father to son. Since 2005, when Alban took over the reins of the family estate, he continues today to perpetuate the traditions of the region, produce excellent wine worthy of the great French tables. Our vineyard is in organic cultivation farming since 2023.
Alban Foucher, Artisan Vigneron and owner of Domaine La Seigneurie, grew up in a family that excels in the art of producing good wine. After completing wine and business studies, the wind took him to the four corners of the world. After experience in Asia, North America and Australia, he returned to the fold in 2005 to take up the family business, and contribute to the excellence of the Domaine La Seigneurie.

Saumur : our terroir
Built along the water and carved into the rock, Saumur is the beating heart of our region. It is in this unique setting, between the majesty of the Loire and the radiance of the limestone, that our wines find their origin.
Tuffeau Stone: The Secret of Our Terroirs
Nicknamed the “Pearl of Anjou,” Saumur captivates with its royal chateau and its architecture made of tuffeau, a luminous white limestone. But its role goes far beyond heritage: it also forms our subsoil. Acting as a natural sponge, the tuffeau stone stores water in the winter and releases it drop by drop throughout the summer. The result? Roots that reach deep into the ground and wines filled with finesse and complexity.
The Loire Effect: A Beneficial Mildness
Far more than just an exceptional backdrop, the Loire acts as a natural climate regulator for our vineyards. Its famous “Anjou mildness” protects the grapes and ensures optimal ripening, lending our cuvées a subtle balance of freshness and mineral character.
